Amani did his first real freshman year at Penn State after which he appeared mostly in special teams during his first year. In 2016, Amani recorded his first interception against Kent State.
He ended the season with 23 tackles. A year later, Amani was becoming more and more popular, mostly due to four interceptions. Furthermore received recognition from the media and coaches. He played in all Penn State games except one where Pen achieved his first Fiesta Bowl victory. The great streak continued the following season when he started in each of the 12 games tallying a career-high, picking off three passes. Amani was drafted by Detroit in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft. Certainly one of the most talented players ahead of many more seasons of playing in the NFL.
