Khabib will come out of retirement if Oliveira beats Makhachev

Former BJJ coach of the famous American Kickboxing Academy Leandro Vieira believes that Khabib will come back from retirement if Charles Oliveira defeats his cousin Islam Makhachev. Khabib decided to say goodbye to the competition at the end of 2020 when he defended his title against Justin Gaethje, and the reason for that was the fact that he gave a promise to his mother that he would never enter the cage again without his father.

It was his third title defense, and he put Gaethje to sleep with a triangle. After Khabib's departure, the most attention is taken by Charles Oliveira, who we could say is currently the uncrowned king of his category. He lost the belt due to falling on the scales before his match against Gaethje, but still, he won and become the first challenger for the title. Everyone is expecting to see Oliveira and Makhachev as a new pair for the title. Islam is currently fourth in the official ranking, but there are still no official confirmations that the match is being played.

The reason this fight would be interesting is that both men are currently on a great streak. Makhachev currently has ten consecutive victories, and Oliveira eleven. However, Oliveira's grounder is a threat to absolutely every fighter in the division. Former BJJ coach from the legendary AKA gym, Leandro Vieira, believes that if Charles' grounder rules, Khabib will certainly return from retirement. This is a dream of every fan of this sport. It would certainly be interesting to watch Oliveira against Islam and Khabib, but we will see how realistic that scenario is in the future.
