Cejudo: Adesanya is just a hype
The middleweight champion Israel Adesanya took over the 185-pound division. However, the former two-division champion Henry Cejduo was not impressed with the 'Last Stylebender'. Adesanya was successful in defending his title in UFC 276 main event while defeating Jared Cannonier by a unanimous decision. Cejudo was considering Adesanya as a one-dimensional fighter and thinks that he should not be promoted so much in the UFC.
He told to the media that it's crazy seeing him come out to The Undertaker as he didn't put on a performance, making the entire thing lame. „Main events are special and if he's not performing, UFC should stop pushing him. He is a decision-maker and the only fight where I saw him really beating someone was Robert Whittaker and knocking him out. I'm still not impressed with him and I think that Alex Pereira is really going because both of them are just strikers with a semi-good defence. Still, I'm going with Pereira because Israel never demonstrated any kind of takedown and thing like that.“ – Cejudo added.
Adesanya's resume includes an impressive list of fighters and he holds two victories over former champion Robert Whittaker, two wins against Marvin Vettori who was No.02 ranked, and defeated Derek Brunson and Paulo Costa. Adesanya is holding the victory over every fighter that ranked in the Top 5. Despite the names on his hit list, Cejudo still thinks that Adesanya doesn't deliver, at least not anymore.
