Salman Butt criticising Pakistan Cricket Board

The former Pakistan skipper, Salman Butt has stated that Pakistan Cricket Board should prepare the result-oriented pitches at home for Test matches. A bit earlier this year, Australia visited Asian countries and two out of three matches didn't even produce a result. Ramiz Raja, the chairman of PCB has clarified that they didn't want to produce a bouncy wicket and let Australians to dictate terms.

Butt, who was a captain of the Pakistan team more than a decade ago, added that flat pitches don't allow captains to work on their strategies too well. He said that it's impossible to look at the pitch and say that spinners will play and results are difficult to achieve even until the fifth day. One would have to wait to the end and see if the pitch breaks, which doesn't test a captain's skill.

„To test that, you need to go and win in England or give tougher teams a run for their money. Pakistan lost too many times away from home but there are still chances to win matches“ – Butt said. He added that Lahore-born Babar Azam could use more time to get into his groove when it comes to captaincy, as he did achieve success in the home series and the team did well in the last year's T20 World Cup.

He added that the captain's skills and tactical abilities are more visible in the Test cricket and ODIs, which are played much less in Pakistan cricket. Baba is preparing to lead the Meni n Green in the upcoming ODI series against Nicholas Pooran West Indies, which will be played from Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
