Jasprit Bumrah named captain for Edgbaston Test
Jasprit Bumrah has come in the place of the regular skipper Rohit Sharma for rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston after the star opener got ruled out of the competition due to COVID-19 restrictions and rules. Jasprit Bumrah has become India's 36th Test captain after being named skipper for the fifth rescheduled Test series they played against England, starting on Friday. Bumrah is in the position of fast bowler since Kapil Dev in 1987, to be named captain of the Indian cricket Test team.
The regular captain Rohit Sharma has failed to recover from COVID-19 and he was ruled out of the Edgbaston Test after his test turned positive again. Burmah was not captained in any List A, First Class, or Indian Premier League match before and it will definitely be fascinating how will he go about things in the all-important fifth Test.
