Covington Rumors shut down – He's ready to fight
The UFC President Dana White has shut down the recent rumours about Colby Covington being seriously injured. It turns out that Covington is more than okay and he is very much ready to fight, with promotion already making plans for him to compete soon. Covington didn't step into the Octagon for some time, since he scored the victory in a unanimous decision over Jorge Masvidal in March, at the UFC 272.
Just a few days after defeating his former best friend, he became a bitter rival, which resulted in the attack outside of the Steakhouse restaurant in Miami. Chaos was allegedly attacked by Gamebred who decided to treat his former best friend with a sucker punch. According to the charges, Colby suffered a chipped tooth, broken Rolex and brain damage.
Most recently, fellow UFC welterweight contender Gilbert Burns was turning heads by saying that Covington has suffered serious injuries, including a very bad neck injury and would not be back in action until March of next year. After many reports came out and gossip boomed around the social media, UFC President Dana White spoke with reporters where he clarified that all the fans were hearing in the past days was nothing but gossip. He is ready to fight and UFC is making plans for him to continue his journey. Covington has gone 3-2 across his last five appearances in Octagon, with two losses coming from the former division champion Kamaru Usman.
