How Michael Harris turned things around

The Atlanta Braves enter the new week with an almost 98% chance of making the playoffs. Furthermore, they have a 6 ½ game lead over the top team in the Wild Card race. But not everything was so great before. In other words, two months ago the prospects were different.

Entering May, the Atlanta Braves were 22-24, three games out of the Wild Card race. Their .478 hitting percentage ranks 15th in the Majors. It was during this time that Michael Harris II made his club debut when he was number one for the Atlanta Braves. Even though Atlanta lost that game, that player's impact started quite early.

A week later the Atlanta Braves won the first of 14 games. The club then had a record of 37-17, and the winning percentage was .685, which was the best ratio in the MLB during that period. Michael Harris has always been a fun player that many love to watch.

The Atlanta Braves had a 66 wRC through the end of May when the league average was 100. Since then, they are tied for ninth among outfielders at 107 wRC+. Michael Harris hit .286 with a .812 OPS and nine homers. His 10.5% barrel rate is above the MLB average. The continuation of the season will certainly be even more exciting.
