Worchester Warriors will be left in the wilderness

In case the club folds, the Worchester players including Lions stars Rory Sutherland and Duhan van der Merwe will be let go. Warriors are expected to be put into the administration throughout the week, as they owe more than £6 million to HMRC, leaving players and staff in a lurch.

The entire squad of 45-plus people will have to search around for new employers. However, the opportunities in the Premiership are already stretched thin as it is. The temporary relaxation of the £5 million salary cap might enable the English clubs to get more players but it's set to be discussed and it's not certain whether it will go through.

For this idea to go through, all 12 clubs would have to vote for it. Some clubs are against it as they have already spent their cash. The back-rowers Ted Hill and the center Ollie Lawrence were in England frame but they could be forced to go abroad for the club job and that could rule them out of playing for the national side of Eddie Jones.

However, experienced nationals like Luther Burrell and Mike Brown are already on market. These two along with the 80 other players released by clubs this summer are struggling to find new posts for the season starting on September 9th. Wasps are also in talks with HMRC in the middle of reports that are being chased for unpaid tax bills.
